Canouan island

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is situated at 60° 56’ West longitude and 13° 15’ North latitude. The highest point in Canouan is Mount Royal at 877 feet above sea level. Along with Bequia, Mustique and Union Island, Canouan is one of the largest islands in the Grenadines. Canouan is located in the heart of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, roughly 1600 miles southeast of Miami and is one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful and exotic destinations. The Grenadine Islands extend for 45 miles southwest of the main island of St. Vincent. The entire island of Canouan consists of only five square miles.

NBA player and political activist Adonal Foyle hails from Canouan, and former Prime Minister of St. Lucia Sir John Compton was born there.

Canouan was one of the locations of the Sports Illustrated 2009 Swimsuit Edition.
